Dr. Kavitha Arunachalam, IIT-Madras

Prof. Kavitha Arunachalam received her Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, India and Doctoral degree from NonDestructive Evaluation Laboratory, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA. She did post-doctoral research in Hyperthermia Physics at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Duke University Medical Center, USA, where she developed RF and microwave devices and sensors for cancer diagnosis and therapy. She is current professor in the Department of Engineering Design, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. Her research interests are electromagnetic (EM) waves and its applications in the area of material measurements, NDT, antennas, eddy current sensors and microwave medical devices for detection and treatment of cancer.
