Dr. V H Patankar, BARC

Dr. V.H.Patankar graduated in Electronics Engg. from K.I.T.’s College of Engg., Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 1987, joined Electronics Division, BARC in 1988 and acquired doctorate in ultrasonic Instrumentation from Mumbai University, in 2007. Initially he worked on the design &development of an Electromyograph instrument for detection of neurological disorders and subsequently engaged in the design and development of an automated ultrasonic imaging systems for NDT of mechanical components for Dept. of Atomic Energy (DAE). Systems developed by him have been utilised for BWR, PHWR and PFBR type reactors. He is a Professor at Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), Deemed to be University of DAE and has guided four PhD scholars. He has more than 80 journal & conference papers in his name and he was awarded ISNT National NDT Award 2003 for R&D (System Innovations and Development), at Thiruvananthapuram. He belongs to Sangli, completed schooling at Modern High School, Pune and loves music and travelling.
